T7000, B7000, E7000 and More — Which Adhesive to Use for Screen Repairs?
March 28, 2026

One of the most common questions among mobile technicians: "Which adhesive?" Choosing the wrong adhesive causes damaged LCD screens, hard-to-remove residue buildup, and sometimes irreversible component damage. In this guide we cover the five most common adhesives used by technicians.
1. T7000 — The Workhorse
What is it? A black, viscous, durable elastomeric adhesive. Comes in a syringe with a fine needle. Dries in 15–30 minutes.
When to use it?
- Bonding screen frame to chassis — the black color hides any small overflow at the edges
- Securing components to the phone back — charging flex, microphone, side buttons
- Perimeter sealing when closing a device
- Replacing dark-colored back covers
What to avoid: White and light-colored devices — the black color can show through. Always use the minimum amount.
2. B7000 — For Delicate and Transparent Work
What is it? An elastomeric adhesive that dries clear, with high flexibility and excellent moisture resistance. Full cure in 24–48 hours.
When to use it?
- Replacing outer glass — transparent, not visible through the screen
- Re-bonding a camera lens that has fallen out of its frame
- Repairs on white and light-colored devices
- Anywhere the adhesive might be visible
What to avoid: Do not expect fast adhesion — pressing too early will cause warping. Not suitable for components that absorb vibration.
3. E7000 — The Strongest of the Three
What is it? A stronger version of the 7000 family, epoxy-elastomer base. Transparent, with higher holding strength than B7000 and better mechanical resistance.
When to use it?
- Bonding glass backs — when strong adhesion over a large area is needed
- Connecting parts that absorb mechanical pressure — frames that tend to re-open
- Repairing earphones and speakers that absorb constant vibration
- When B7000 does not hold — E7000 is the next step up
What to avoid: Components that will need future disassembly — E7000 is very hard to remove. Keep away from fragile connectors.
4. Double-Sided Tape
What is it? Black adhesive tape with adhesive on both sides. Comes in rolls of 0.1–0.5mm thickness, sometimes pre-cut to fit specific models.
When to use it?
- Bonding LCD to chassis — the cleanest, fastest, most professional method
- Securing battery to body — just like the original factory assembly
- Flat components bonded to the back — magnets, NFC, antennas
- Fast work — no drying time, can close immediately
Big advantage: Can be removed relatively cleanly, making future disassembly easier. Make sure to choose the right thickness — tape that is too thick will create a gap between the glass and LCD.
5. Frame Adhesive Sticker Kit
What is it? A pre-made set of stickers cut to the exact shape of a specific model. Comes with a back sticker, screen frame sticker, and sometimes a battery sticker — everything in one package.
When to use it?
- High-volume repairs — a ready kit saves time on guessing and measuring
- Glass back replacement — the kit eliminates the need for manual cutting
- Clean and consistent work — every sticker is shaped precisely, no overflow
- Maintaining factory standard — kits replicate the original factory adhesive layout
Quick Decision Chart
| Situation | Recommended Adhesive |
|---|---|
| Dark screen frame | T7000 |
| Light screen frame | B7000 |
| Camera lens | B7000 / E7000 |
| Glass back | E7000 / Kit |
| LCD to chassis | Double-sided tape / Kit |
| Battery | Double-sided tape / Kit |
| Popular model in high volume | Ready-made kit |
General Tips
- Clean first — wipe both surfaces with 99% isopropyl alcohol before any bonding
- Minimum amount — less is always better. Excess adhesive seeps into the phone
- Even pressure — use a clamp or weight after placement, do not hold by hand
- Check expiry — adhesive older than 18 months after opening will perform poorly
